The heart of wine country means that there’s a lot of delicious nectar of the vine to taste, and one of the most prominent wineries around is Stone Hill. Not only can you go on a tasting and visit the beautiful vineyards, but you can learn about the history of winemaking, eat a full meal at the restaurant, and even tour behind the scenes for the secrets on Stone Hill’s exquisite drinks.
An ideal place for cyclists, hikers, or casual trail walkers, Katy Trail is a 240-mile long nature trail that draws crowds from all over the state. It’s a great place to relax, explore, and learn about some of the local history attractions. The entrance is located in McKittrick just a short drive north of Hermann.
Originally settled by Germans, Hermann is a great place to visit during the whole month of October. Breweries bring their carefully crafted beverages, German history is brought forward at places like the Deutschheim State Historic Site, and the music from local artists makes Oktoberfest the best festival to go to!
